Have Camera, Will Travel.
I am a freelance photographer, writer and vagabond based in Austin, Texas. I have a Master’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri. I currently teach photojournalism courses at Texas State University. I managed summer photo programs in Asia for five years and taught photography at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. I also wrote a monthly travel column called Viewfinder for The Denver Post about my adventures. I currently run photo trips for National Geographic Student Expeditions.
I fell in love with photography and traveling while studying abroad in college. Since then, I’ve been to 48 countries and lived on four continents. Sitting still is boring.

About the Blog
All I’ve ever wanted to do is travel. And, that’s exactly what I do. I’ve lived in five states and five countries on four continents in the past 12 years. The secret to my traveling life is simple. I made it my top priority. I don’t have a trust fund. Instead, I found a way to make it happen. I started this blog to document my travels and share my experiences, advice and tips because I want to help YOU travel the world! Any of the places, brands or companies I mention are solely from my experience, and I do not have any financial ties with them.
PR AGENCIES: I do NOT take free or sponsored press trips. Please do NOT add me to your mailing list.
