Hi, I’m Anna Mazurek — a freelance photographer, writer, and vagabond based in Austin, Texas. I have a master’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri and have spent the last 15 years traveling/living in five states and five countries across four continents. I’ve traveled to over 70 countries, mostly solo (often with my globetrotting gnome), and my work has been published in National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, AFAR, and Travel + Leisure. I also teach journalism courses at Texas State University, workshops at the University of Texas at Austin and lead photo expeditions for National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions.

My photography has been published in a National Geographic book, “100 Hikes of a Lifetime.”  My first book, “Good with Money: A Guide to Prioritizing Spending, Maximizing Savings and Traveling More,” was published in December 2018 and is available on Amazon.

Why I Started This Travel Blog

Travel is my passion.  I’ve lived in five states and five countries on four continents in the past 15 years. The secret to my traveling life is simple. I made it my top priority. I don’t have a trust fund. Instead, I found a way to make it happen. I started this blog to document my travels and share my experiences, advice and tips because I want to help YOU travel the world!
