Alfred had an unfortunate accident in India. While I was being patted down in the “women’s frisking booth” at the Leh airport, the luggage conveyer belt got backed-up. My bag tumbled to the ground. Poor Alfred was in pieces when I found him. I might have cried on the plane. Thanks to spray insulation, good friends and Indian super glue, he’s back in one piece!
My little travel buddy now travels in an indestructible Pelican case. Take that, airport security!
Traveling with a gnome is crazy enough. But, imagine traveling with a super-glued gnome in an indestructible case. At the Birmingham airport, the guard at the x-ray machine looked up at me and nonchalantly said, “Traveling with a gnome?” In Costa Rica, three security guards gathered around and made me open his indestructible case. He instantly won them over with his little green charm. They wanted to know his name and everywhere he had been. He’s quite the celebrity!
